To prepare metal pans
1 part flour to 3 parts melted butter, mix into a paste and brush libeally over all the crevices and up the sides of the pans. Freeze this for at least an hour before decanting cake mix into it and baking. Another good preparation method is to cut little shapes out of greaseproof paper (i.e to fit the shape of the wheels, etc.) so the cake comes out easily without losing the definition of the mould.
Place on a baking sheet before filling with cake mix, otherwise you'll wobble and spill trying to transfer to the oven! Lightly oil the mould, then trace and cut out the number from greaseproof paper to line the base.
